The sixty fourth annual meeting of the Lincoln Association of Congregational and Christian churches will convene at the Congregational church in Diller on Tuesday and Wednesday October 10 and 11. Rev H H Pyche is local pastor and the program includes devotions, committee appointments, talks on progress, youth programs, kingdom enterprise, and a combined service with a women's luncheon and addresses by Rev Ralph L Abraham and Rev R A Dawson.

The American Legion and World Herald sponsor the Young Citizens Contest at Fairbury High School Library at 9 00 A M on Saturday October 14. Each high school may enter two boys and two girls with tests in intelligence and personality plus a full physical. Dr A A Reed of the University of Nebraska compiles the tests and rechecks county papers after scoring. District winners travel to Omaha with expenses paid. final state exams are November 1 2 in Omaha. Medals go to the five top boys and five top girls as Nebraska’s outstanding young citizens for 1939.
