Young man in serious condition after car accident
Sidow, the driver who delivered Aunt Bettys Bread at Diller, is in a Fairbury hospital with a spinal injury after a recent car upset near Fairbury. Initially thought minor, his condition is now described as serious. A letter from Claude Cavett in Grand Prairie Alberta notes snow there on September 24.

Bradford Diller and his mother Mrs. Roy Diller left Wednesday in his car for Emmett Idaho where the Dillers will establish their future home. Mrs. Roy Diller will stay to help settle then join her husband in San Diego for the winter. Rainy Monday Delays Wheat Sowing in Wet Ground
An old fashioned rain soaked the area for about fourteen hours starting six AM, delivering roughly 13 inches. The ground remains very wet, leaving farmers ready to sow wheat but delaying late corn, which stays green and may yield soft corn.

Federal tax hits school admissions and lunch prices
The 1941 revenue act levies a ten percent tax on all school admission tickets with an exception for children under 12 paying less than a dime. Every ten cent admission or fraction taxed one penny. Hot lunches at the school will cost a nickel after January first, up from three cents. The tax affects all admission fees beyond the schools.

The Diller stockmen brought seven calves to the fair with strong showings.
