Elderly Mr. Chase Finch Injured In Ladder Fall Near Odell
Finch 72 of six miles north of Odell was seriously hurt Monday morning after falling from a ladder at his home. He suffered a triple fracture of the right thigh bone and a broken right arm. He was taken by Weggoner’s ambulance to the Mennonite hospital at Beatrice for treatment. A previous broken left hip from about two years earlier hindered recovery.

Mrs. Eileen Gorr and her baby, from Curtis Nebraska, called her parents Rex and Mrs. Green at the Midway station south of Beatrice to say someone should come after them so they can eat Thanksgiving dinner at home. A Curtin school teacher drove to Blue Springs to visit relatives, and Eileen rode with them to the station as Mr. Gorr coaches a football team elsewhere.

It is reported that Rev W R Velte former Diller Methodist pastor wed a wealthy teacher and the family has moved to Missouri living on an acreage. Velte came to Nebraska from the Missouri conference with Diller his first charge in the state. He retired from the ministry in the past year with Douglas and Burr as his last charges.

Profit In Hogs From Hardy Shipment In Omaha Market
Howard Hardy and his father W E Hardy topped the Omaha market with a hog shipment sent last Friday. Howard sold 43 head averaging 239 pounds at a little over six months old, all farrowed from six sows, yielding a gross income from six litters exceeding $1,000. The hogs were crossbred Duroc and Hereford.

They attended the State Pasture Forage and Livestock Association meeting in the Exchange building, toured Swift & Co plants, and ate a scheduled lunch and dinner for about 1000 attendees. The group stayed at the Paxton hotel with 700 Yessir Club members.
