Martin Frericks died about 10 o'clock Tuesday night at his home three miles northwest of Diller from pneumonia following typhoid. He was 61 or 62 and had lived near Diller about 25 years. Funeral will be Saturday at 1 o'clock from the residence.
The L. W. class of the M. E. church met with Mrs. Lightner Friday evening for organization. Officers elected include Pres. Esther Green, Secy Veracanes Treas Lula Lee Pres. Correspondent Sears Cherry Flower com. Halber Grace Watson Nellie eaver social com. Gertrude Brauser Florence Long Viola Kerr. The evening ended with social conversation games and a two course luncheon.

Dr. Ellis' mother who had visited here and at Wymore for several weeks returns to Wyoming. A chicken pie social will be held at the church on Geo Riddle's farm five miles southeast of town on Friday November 29 inviting all residents to attend.
Miss Golfa Miler traveled to Omaha on Sunday and, with Miss Addie Miller of Lincoln, plans a Thanksgiving with their brother in law and sister Dr and Mrs J G Neely and family at Wingide Nebraska.
The Ladies of the Presbyterian church will serve a buffet lunch at City Hall on Saturday afternoon and evening November 23. They will also hold an apron and confectionery sale with all invited to attend.
An auto caravan from Fairbury consisting mainly of young women crashed into a barbed wire fence at the Diller Brog slaughter house on Sunday afternoon, breaking the windshield. It then struck a telephone pole near Geo Henrichs causing disabling damage, forcing the car to be abandoned overnight.

Mr and Mrs C E Waggoner came back Monday from a visit started Saturday with Mr and Mrs Heary Hemminger of near Beat Rice and Mr and Mrs Mel Carpenter of near Odell. Both ladies are sisters of Mr Waggoner.

The K K K group gathered at Mrs. I. D. Steiner’s home on Wednesday afternoon November 20. A large attendance arrived thanks to auto owners and enjoyed social time, needlework, and refreshments prepared by the hostess with help from Mrs. Brandt.
