Pony Baby Doll Killed at Fair Grounds Racecourse
Rollie Hughes suffered a fall when his seven year old pony Baby Doll bolted at the fair grounds racetrack. A sliver from the fence penetrated the pony’s chest causing its death shortly after. Hughes was thrown about forty feet but escaped serious injury.

Mr and Mrs Thomas P Price former Diller residents now living in Tucson Arizona plan to move back to Nebraska. They drive their car and have household goods by truck. Their daughter and husband have moved east. The Prices own a quarter section farm near Diller and rumor says they may settle in Beatrice.

Library reopens after fire at new location two doors north
The Diller library, nearly wiped out by a recent blaze, will reopen tomorrow Saturday in a new site two doors north of the hotel. Present books may be exchanged only between 3 and 5 o'clock on Saturday and Wednesday afternoons.

Book Donations Prolific at City Library
Community notes that book donations are again in order at the city library. In Diller area fall harvest yields good winter wheat. Auto trip to Platte nets a few ducks near Grand Island
Cal Waggoner and William Van Marter of Fairbury returned Saturday from a duck-hunting trip to the Platte near Grand Island. They reported only a few birds. The report notes gravelled roads connecting Diller with the outside world and comments on a so-called gravel road to the county seat.

Obituary of W. T. Ward a longtime Nebraska to Cleveland resident
Walter T. Ward born Warwick England 1846 died Cleveland Ohio 1931 aged 85. Survived by wife Effa and three children Edwin William Anna and Alice plus eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He moved from Nebraska to Cleveland after 1910 and was buried in Prairie Home cemetery with services at Diller Congregational church.

Doctor Max Mayo Miller a prominent Arkansas City physician died Friday evening at home after heart failure from a chest growth. He practiced 12 years in Arkansas City and held hospital, church, Kiwanis, and Masonic affiliations. Funeral held in Arkansas City with doctors, church members and Kiwanis attending.
