Mrs. Ella Griswold underwent an operation in a Beatrice hospital yesterday morning. Mrs. Mary Smith is visiting at the home of her step-daughter, Mrs. H. H. Greider, west of town.
Forty five youths and teachers from the Federated Sunday School attended a waffle supper at the Christian church on Wednesday night. J H Saathoff reports a 6 hole sandwich corn sheller in good condition.
A well attended chicken supper at city hall last Saturday evening raised a neat sum for the Federated church.
All ladies who are church members or who have an interest in the work are asked to make an aron and some fancy work for booths at the Bazaar to be held December 3.
Miss Vivian Waggoner daughter of Mr and Mrs Cal Waggoner has been ill with chorea and is slowly improving. She is being cared for by nurse Miss Elsie Koenig of Plymouth.
Dr. Adams succeeds Dr. Garland at 1114 North 6th Street Beatrice. A local mother began picking her gesse last Friday but halted when the ground turned nearly white.
Rev Iva N Innis of Wilcox a former Diller M E Church pastor was chosen vice president of the Nebraska Woman's Christian Temperance Union at the state convention in Omaha.
Mrs. Chas. Waggoner hosted a November 4 1927 masquerade for her Sunday school class Why a How Class. Sixteen young ladies attended with one unaccompanied guest, enjoying games, a luncheon, and music before departing late with praise for the hosts. One former Diller teacher, Miss Caroline Hanchett now Mrs. W E Brandenburg, is active as a preacher.
The editor notes Next Thursday is Thanksgiving and predicts low newspaper printing. The Record may skip printing until publication day Friday, delaying rural route deliveries for the first time in many moons.
Open meeting Tuesday November 15 marked the annual O E S reception for Masons and their families. Program featured Miss Patterson leading H S orchestra, vocal and piano solos, readings, duets, and a one act burlesque. About 130 guests from Odell and Steele City attended.
