Community Club plans winter lectures and meal

The Diller Community Club held its regular meeting and announced a winter program of four or five high class lectures with no admission charge. They also arranged a club feed for the next meeting and noted membership is $1 for six months with ladies free. B F Henriche shipped Duroc Jersey hogs to Missouri this week.

Jolly Neighbors Club Meets With Mrs Hayes for Quilting

The Jolly Neighbors club met with Mrs James Hayes on October 29. Twelve members attended along with four visitors and three children. The afternoon was spent quilting.

Library report shows six month loan totals at Diller Public Library

The report lists May 115 June 127 July 151 Aug 138 Sept 128 Oct 149 totaling 808 loans. Once funds allow the treasurer will approve new winter reading purchases. Membership costs 1.00, non members pay 0.05 per loan.

Jolly Neighbors Club Elects Officers in 1924 Meeting

At Mrs. Will Ames home on November 12 1924 the Jolly Neighbors club with fifteen members and one guest elected officers. Rudolph Hubka became president Frank Grone vice president Mildred Hood secretary treasurer and Leonard Richardson reporter. The next meeting is slated for November 19 at Mrs. A J Hutchinson home with work.

The Diller Community Club announces four lectures for November through February with a potential March add on. Speakers include Prof. Dwight G. Burrage Doane College Pres Chas E Cobbey Cotner College Chancellor I B Schrekengast Wesleyan University and Pres Calvin French Hastings College. The first talk Friday Nov 21 features Burrage Travel Talk Zig Zag Journeys in Lands using a stereopticon.

Miss Lillian Wiemers Wins Diamond Ring at Medicine Show

Saturday night the popular girl contest at the medicine show awarded Miss Lillian Wiemers the diamond ring. Nearby residents shared visits and weekend travels including Dr. and Mrs. O C Dieh and Eleanor at Lincoln with the Limprechts, and Glen Jones family returning to Clay Center Kansas after visiting the Mosers. The county grading crew completed two miles of road work near Mathias corner and Theo Henrichs corner, promising ground improvement despite variable conditions.

Mrs C L E Blauser entertained the Dillers Lincoln club at her suburban home at Sixty sixth and South streets on Friday afternoon. Seventeen members attended. games and a luncheon followed with Mesdames Pittenger and Blair assisting.
