Waggoners Attend Afternoon Gathering and Family Visit

Mrs. C. E. Waggoner attended a pleasant afternoon event with Mr. Waggoner. Mrs. Ray Colman and her daughter Maxine arrived yesterday to stay several days with her mother Mrs. Sarah Witty and sister Mrs. R. W. Green and family. Phillip Zimmerman, north of Ellis, fractured his leg when a wagon broke and his team ran away, snapping the leg above the ankle.

Girl Injured in Buggy Accident Near Diller

Dorothy McGinty fourteen year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl McGinty was thrown from a buggy near Diller when the horse she was driving bolted after being spooked by a dog. A fracture above the ankle was reduced by Dr. O C Diehl at his office.

Richard Clark Miller marked his fourth birthday on a sunny autumn day with family in tow. The Dodge car carried his dad, mom, brother, sister and even the dog Deacon to a woodland birthday scene under a large oak, where cake candles flickered and eerie woodland noises stirred the moment.

Adeline V. Kennedy of Fairbury is defendant in a lawsuit filed by Aetna Life Insurance Co. over her late husband William R. Kennedy’s policy. The action seeks to declare the contract null and void, alleging improper signing and delivery. The case was brought by Brown, Itch & West of Omaha.

The NCSA Club met on Wednesday October 26 1927 with twelve members and honor guests Mrs Clarence Hiatt Mrs Harry Thompson Miss Patterson Miss Olson and Erma Franzen. Decor included Laura Sacenase flowers and a poster making contest followed by two sliding trombone duets by Erman Zen and Lynn Cully with Miss Patterson at piano. Hostess assisted by Mrs Moser and Mrs Viers served a two course luncheon in a setting of lighted tapers and Halloween favors. Next meeting set for November 16 with Roll Call Childhood poem.
