Mary Jean Smith and Leonard D Frisbie wed on May 21 1936 in Hastings Nebraska. The bride teaches in Diller schools. groom a respected local farmer. They will reside on the farm northeast of Diller after June 1 1936.
Telegram reports the death of Rev Victor F Clark former minister of the Congregational church of this place. He had many friends in the community and resided at Penney Farms Florida with Mrs Clark a long time. He was a 1925 Mason member and remained in the local Masonic Lodge.
Honorable James H. Mac Lafferty a former congressman from California and ex assistant to Herbert Hoover will address the county court room in Fairbury Thursday evening. He represents the Republican National Committee in Nebraska and other states promoting the Republic Volunteer organization for opponents of the New Deal.
Miss Edna Hullman who has been under treatment at a Kearney sanatorium for two years returned to the home of her parents Mr and Mrs Henry Hullman two miles west of town in much improved health. Her brother Clarence went to Kearney Wednesday for her.
Fairbury to host a two day flower show Friday and Saturday in the Lambert building opposite the Bonham theatre. The event is sponsored by the Nature Study department of the Fairbury Women's Club.

L J Wolff gave the main address from Van Dyke lines on character, with thirteen graduates and Gretchen Fanders missing due to an accident. Lucille Barnett received an honor certificate and four Nebraska College scholarships were cited.
Allen Nelson from Washington DC spent last week with his mother and step father at Steele City. A former resident, he once worked as a student pharmacist and has 18 years in a federal army dispensary in Washington. He revisited Diller and shared school and sports memories, noting his long distance throwing mark and judging Hod Green and Will Diller’s pitching power.
Mr and Mrs W A Snyder announce the graduation of their grandson Clinton Sandman in Grand Junction Colorado His first year was in Harbine second and third in Diller and last year in Grand Junction He moved with his parents to a farm eight miles from Grand Junction in March and spent the last six weeks at Appleton High school finishing in a class of thirteen.

A Chevrolet driven by Elmer Malchow struck Gretchen Fanders as she and her twin crossed toward home near the school. Gretchen suffered bruises and cuts but no bones or internal injuries. the car toppled into a ditch, and Gretchen is recovering at home as the community reflects on youth and driving.
Patrons enjoyed an auto themed evening hosted by Logan's former teacher over five years in District 56. The event featured car related entertainment, a radiator filling with a spoon, a short tasting, and a luncheon of sandwiches, pickles, and pie. The group plans a May 22 picnic.

Four Doane College students formed a gospel team that led a service at the Congregational church last Sunday evening. The program included three short talks on Christianity fear and inadequacy and a caution against procrastinating in spiritual life. Afterward, church youths and a few adults shared refreshments with visitors. Doane is noted among Nebraska’s Christian colleges.

Mrs. George P. Marvin died at her South Beatrice home Saturday evening aged 82. She moved to Beatrice in 1879 with her husband who founded the Beatrice Daily Sun. he passed away in 1908. Her father Rev David Hall May preached Beatrice’s first sermon.
Mr and Mrs Wells Andrews and their mother Mrs C C Andrews of Steele City attended commencement exercises Monday evening. Bob Andrews grandson of Mrs C C Andrews was a member of the graduating class.
