The postal savings bank at Steele City has been discontinued. For Sale a nice lot of pie plant for canning. 51 G. T. Mills, F. W. Henrichs shipped two loads of cattle and one of hogs Monday. Two good rains this week have put the ground in excellent condition for growing crops. Dr. and Mrs. Claude Ellis left Tuesday for the state dental convention in Lincoln. Mrs. J. E. Clark returned Monday from visiting S. J. Clark and family at Wymore. Adolph Patton, visiting with his father Robi Patton and Diller relatives, returned Saturday to Chester.

The G A R Post and Woman's Relief Corps of Diller will hold Decoration day at 9 30 a m on the 30th at their hall then march to Prairie Home Cemetery for ritual services and graves decoration. G C Blauser sold this week to R L Oaks 80 acres described as the east half of the northwest quarter of 26-2-4 and the east half of the southwest quarter of 23-2-4 for 10000 dollars or 125 dollars per acre. About fifty young friends gathered Saturday night near Shea to celebrate Roy McCune s sixteenth birthday. Guests came from Rock Creek and areas south of Diller where the McCune family has lived for years. The party featured games and a late midnight refreshment before guests returned home.
