Oak and red elm fence posts offered 10 to 18 cents by J. M. Hiatt of Thos. P. Price and family plan to move to Kansas City soon. Mrs. Harry King and children visit Beatrice relatives. C L Waggoner took the early train Monday to Tulsa Oklahoma for the state shoot offering large cash prizes for marksmanship. He is confident he will win several events.
Wilson Brandt of five miles southeast of Diller sustained a fractured kneecap Sunday after a kick from a young horse. He has disposed of the horse and can travel to town for treatment, though use of the limb will be limited for some time.
A report notes an auto crank missing about two miles west of Diller and asks Kinder to leave it at I. D. Fanders. William L. Weigel returned Tuesday noon from a business trip to Lincoln via the R. I. to Fairbury and then the Burlington.
Rev Carmony will deliver the baccalaureate sermon for the D H S graduating class in the opera house Sunday evening. Free to all.

Capt Chester Andrews of Steele City returned last week from Boston where he spent the winter with a daughter and was in Diller and vicinity Monday attending to business.
Thos. Foster of near City Iowa, a former resident of the Oiler vicinity, spent Saturday to Monday with old-time friends Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eastwood and then went to visit friends at Liberty Nebraska.
The county commissioners will meet again June 5. An eight pound girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. George Lampe nine miles northwest of Diller on Sunday. Thos P Price and Jorden Lan man left Saturday for New York City on a business trip. Mr. and Mrs. A H Colman are home from Kansas City after a several week visit. Grover Waggoner and his wife visited here at the home of his parents and then returned to Wymore.
Notice for a Diller Cha utqua association meeting at city hall on Monday May 21 at 8 pm. All members and interested people are urged to attend as important business will be transacted. R F Starr is chairman.
A Fort Crook signal corps balloon bound for Fort Riley was shot at twice by farmer Doty near Liberty Nebraska early Sunday. The air craft descended near Odell before continuing to Omaha, with Doty identified and the balloon shipped to the city.
The eight year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Orla Hafer was badly burned Saturday when her clothing caught fire from a blaze in a small furnace. A local physician and a Fairbury physician were called along with a nurse. The child is getting along as well as could be expected. The father’s fingers were burned as they helped extinguish the flames.
Burlington agent F. W. Black arrived home Wednesday after four weeks away spent with his family in Florida. They traveled via Lincoln where Mrs. Black and the children visited friends for a few days and enjoyed fresh vegetables and fruit along the trip.
C. E. Reinhart of Diller was among twenty six Nebraskans accepted at the Fort Snelling reserve officers training camp. He traveled from Crete to visit his parents and received notice of acceptance Sunday before departing for Ft. Snelling.
At a city hall meeting the Sons of Old Soldiers passed a resolution urging all sons of soldiers to gather at the city hall at 10 45 a m Sunday May 27 to join the G A R and the W R C for Memorial Day services to be held at the Methodist Church Full Record will publish details next week
Comrades of both Union and Confederate arms in Nebraska are urged to attend the National Memorial Reunion and Peace Jubilee in Vicksburg Mississippi October 16 to 19. The Nebraska legislature appropriated 20000 dollars to cover transportation costs and veterans should send name company and regiment to J H Presson secretary of the Nebraska Commission State House Lincoln at their earliest convenience.
The Pixies and Fairies express gratitude to everyone who helped behind the scenes at the curtain door and ticket window and to those who enabled their use of the opera house.
The three year old son of Mr and Mrs Chas McClure north of Ellis suffered a broken right arm Sunday when kicked by a horse.
The 45th Annual Camp Meeting of the Nebraska State Holiness Association will be at Epworth Lake Park Lincoln Neb from June 15 to 24. Organizers aim for the largest event yet with tents board and furniture details via Monte E Pursley 2910 S Street. Rev W H Prescott secretary 1417 O Street provides further information.
Church notes invite attendance at Sunday school at 10 a.m. next Sunday is the only service. Epworth League skipped due to an 8 p.m. class sermon at the opera house. Prayer meeting Wednesday at 8 p.m. to study Repentance from specified scriptures. all are welcome.
The Bible school reports 85 attendees including 62 women and aims for 100. Next Sunday honors older people with morning services themed The Passing Years. Chorus practice Saturday at the church and the Endeavor service at 7:00 at the Presbyterian church precede an opera house service. Wednesday prayer meeting led by H. B. Atwood.
