John L. Waggoner of Meridian Idaho formerly of this place faced as a juror in Boise May term was key witness last Saturday against W N Yost charged with attempting to bribe him on April 4 while serving as juror. Yost bound over to district court in 500 dollars defended by Moyer and Pettibone. Also notes on local ads for watches millet seed and a visit by Willis Mormon to Lincoln.
Fairmount Creamery Co. agents advertise top payment for cream. They accept cream Wednesday forenoons and Saturday all day. J D Fanders signs the notice. A sick horse named Red Harry, scratched with a brass pin, was improving after blood poisoning concern reported from Wymore Sunday.
On Sunday May 7 the 34th birthday of Mr Alonzo Specht was celebrated with a surprise party at his home one mile north and three miles west of Diller. Guests included numerous relatives and neighbors such as Col Blauser who gave a presentation speech. A painted rocker was presented as a memento and the event was described as one of the happiest in the vicinity.
News notes a car load of baled prairie hay anticipated in a few days. Also mentions J. D. Faners and Mrs. W. A. Hull returning to Lincoln after a visit with Diller relatives, and Mrs. Josh Robertson accompanying her home with her mother, Alex Bell.
Mrs A M Diller and Mrs Christie V Thompson traveled to Steele City on Monday for a short visit with relatives and friends. Wm Swain visiting his sons the Swain Bros on their Beatrice area farm came into town Saturday and was surprised by how good Diller is as a town.
Dr. Taylor J. F. Zoellen A. H. Phelps 8. S. Babcock Cal. Clark Mr. Coons and several others from Steele City met Monday to discuss the telephone situation with the Diller company.

Geo. Pickard & Son leased the Emerson building for pump and wind mill work after Diller Telephone Co bought their previous site. J H Kuper and Aug Grefe moved two bodies from the German Lutheran cemetery near Diller to Humboldt for burial. Robert S. Bibb, Beatrice attorney and former Gage county prosecutor, died at his home. he was a Griggs Kinaker Bibb partner and Nebraska governor candidate in 1896.
