Funeral for Conklin Bracken at Steele City
Carl Franzen and Erma with Mr and Mrs S C Moser attended the Monday funeral in Steele City for Conklin Bracken 58 who died Friday after a six month illness. A former Iowa resident, he was a blacksmith and carpenter and ran a hardware shop in Steele City for four years. Survived by three children. Services at the Presbyterian church followed by burial in Steele City cemetery.

Maria Jansen Garrels born June 29 1858 in Lebanon Illinois died May 3 1926 at age 67 years 10 months 4 days at home near Diller Nebraska. She married John Henry Bohlen Weber June 5 1876 in New Douglas Illinois and had four children. After 1884 marriage to Fred H Garrell nine children born four surviving. Moved from New Douglas to Barneston 1897 then near Diller 1901. Survived by husband Fred H Sates and children W Garrels Fred Garrels Frank Garrels Harvey Garrels fourteen grandchildren five sisters two brothers. Funeral at home then St Johns Lutheran Lanham burial in Lanham church cemetery.

Death of Mrs Harriet Anderson at 81 in Endicott area
Mrs Harriet Anderson of Endicott died last Friday at her daughter Mrs Ed Thrapp's home near Steele City aged 81. After a short service at the house the body was moved to Endecott for funeral services at the church and burial in Fairbury cemetery.
