The Diller Mercantile Co placed a new six drawer cash register Monday praising it as both a useful fixture and handsome furniture. Grace Bell, quarantined at Fairbury for diphtheria, was released last week and returned home after resigning as stenographer at Galbraith nurseries. Ford's Sunny South Colored Comedy Co performs at Loock's Opera House Saturday and Monday with farces like A Trip to Coon Town My Uncle from Bam A Honolulu Coon and My Aunt from Georgia Admission 25 and 15 cents.
An acre spans 6,272,000 square inches, so one inch of rain equals 6,272,640 cubic inches. With 227 cubic inches per gallon, that is about 22,000 gallons, 220,000 pounds, or 100 tons per acre, illustrating rainfall weight.
The wife of C H F Niemann living about six miles southwest of Diller died Sunday and was buried Tuesday from St Pauls German Lutheran church after a short house service with Rev Fit ting officiating. Interment was in Prairie Home Cemetery. She was 59 and survived by her husband and two children, a son and a daughter.
Railroads won the two cent rate battle in Missouri and now target Nebraska where a two cent rate is said to be compensatory. Officials note Nebraska differs from Missouri and the industry may face a tougher fight there.

J. H. Carmichael reports a good work horse lost Monday after taking ill on the road just north of town. No cause given and the animal remains missing.
A. O. U. W. Diller Lodge No. 133 urges a full membership turnout Saturday night to discuss important order matters.
Forest Hartzell shipped six car loads of cattle and two loads of hogs fed four to six months to the St Joe market Tuesday. He went along with H. E. Green H. Z. Diller and Col. J. B. Wright to supervise the sale.
An ad touts No-Drip Health Coffee as a clever silver strainer styled beverage from Dr. Shoop of Racine Wisconsin. It offers a free coupon plan with a book on health coffee and claims the product uses pure grain malt and nuts with no real coffee. The ad promises easy preparation in minutes and lists a 1 lb package for 25 cents through Neely's Pharmacy.
District No. 60 closed the school Tuesday with a successful term led by Miss Flossie Raymond. Patrons brought baskets for a noon dinner, honoring the teacher and scholars, followed by a commendation program. Visitors included Robertson, Maw, Long, Woods families, Wolkens, Wolforth, Bausch, Woods, Johnson, Stewart, Sasee, Raymond, Beaver, Bugbee, Jennie Woods, Lela Robertson, Paulina Rentz, Maude Kurtz and Clarence Wolkens.

Conniff is related to C E and Cal Waggoner.
The dispute over the Grand Chief position of the Degree of Honor A O U W ends with the district court dismissing Mrs. Latky suit. Mrs. Cleaver won the Grand Lodge election by one vote last year claiming voting irregularities. Evidence showed H M Warring who supported Latky met the same qualifications.

Christ Madden once from Diller now runs a blacksmith shop at Long Grove Ia and is prospering. He and his bride arrived in Diller Thursday evening for their wedding trip, welcomed by Madden’s many relatives residing there.

Vester works on the Burlington between Omaha and Lincoln and renewed his subscription to the Record. His brother Lodger works on the U P and his father remains employed in a South Omaha packing house.
