Notice asks all who know themselves indebted to Hale & Wright to call at the Farmers Grain office and settle at earliest convenience. Village ordinance requires sidewalks to Diller be concrete, reflecting Diller's cement walks and future construction for wheat shipments.
Good Roads column notes Glenwood township in Gage county building a large concrete waterway by the Kaden farm and advancing the seven miles pledged. A. J. Hill and his crew completed waterways and began grading with a goal to finish the mile by Saturday. The effort includes fundraising by the Business Men's Association to cover a 350 deficit and 150 for grading, with several communities contributing. August Engelman and Frank Mathias are praised for a fine first mile of 40 feet wide with straight curb lines and well-covered waterways.
Adelaide Freeman visited the school while Miss Faye Tucker was a high school visitor this week. The Botany class finished their herbarium and Mary Patton returned to school after two weeks away. Several high school visitors from the past week included Mesdamea John W. and P. B. Miller. Final exams concluded for Physice, with diplomas awarded for six months perfect attendance to Harold Hutchinson and Carrol Diller. The sixth and seventh grades held a ciphering contest, the seventh winning 26 to 27. Eighth grade progress shows six passed this year, four retake one subject, three retake two. The Literary Club performed Mr. Bob to a full house, netting $78 after expenses from $119.55 box receipts. A new permanent record book for grades was adopted, aiding easy grade lookup. Nonresident pupils comprise half of high school enrollment, paying over $675 tuition this year. Three seniors are nonresident. six of next year’s class are nonresident. The Board of Education named Rev. Boyle to preach the class of 1910 baccalaureate at the Presbyterian church May 22, with A. J. Northrup to deliver the commencement address May 27 on Savonarola. Mrs. A. T. Watson will direct commencement music in Lpock's Hall. The senior class lists four members: Merle E. Fish of Hudson, Loren Ewing of Harbine, Gladys Freeman of Ellis, and Kenneth Fouts of Diller.
Presbyterian church announces regular morning and evening services led by Pastor WM Boyle. Baptist church at Harbine advertises Sunday morning preaching and 10 o clock Sunday school led by Rev W R Moon.
