Death of Henry Schuette at 68 with services held
Henry Schuette suffered a stroke at his home near Diller last Saturday evening and died Sunday in Odell. He was 68. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at his sister Mrs. W. F. Wehling's home seven miles southwest of Diller, with Presbyterian church rites at Steele City at 2:30 p.m. R of P lodge conducted graveside rites. Interment followed in Steele City cemetery by Waggoner Bros. He is survived by three sisters and one brother Will Schuette of Hastings Nebraska.

Food Stamp Plan Goes Into Effect Tomorrow in County
Jefferson county and Diller merchants prepare to launch the federal food stamp program. Orange 25 cent stamps are sold to eligible recipients, with blue stamps issued free at a rate of one blue per two orange. Blue stamps cover surplus foods and orange stamps buy foods for home consumption. Sub stations and local agents across the county coordinate the rollout.

Death of Luther Nelson Shocks Fairbury Community
The 85 year old Fairbury resident was found by his wife hanging in the attic of their home. No cause is known for the act. Nelson was a long time banker and was married March 1 this year. Paul Renz has been under doctors care this week.
