In Nebraska Claude R Wickard declared April 1 as the final official closing date for signing corn-hog contract applications nationwide and said no extensions would be granted. Farmers should file in March if unable to complete all details, with small changes possible if they do not inconvenience the county corn-hog association. The board will review yield figures to release most first group applications for signing as soon as typed, with about 75 to 80 percent of Nebraska contracts expected to be processed at corn planting time.

Road Across Cub Creek North of Diller Straightened
Jefferson County FERR moved the Cub Creek bridge ten miles north of Diller last winter eliminating dangerous curves. The bridge shifted southeast a hundred yards and raised to ground level on the south with a large north fill. The road now angles southwest not along the section line and will pass west of William Camp’s residence when finished, currently curving between his house and barn.

Obituary for Carrie J Emerson Green of Diller Nebraska aged about 60s. She died at home after a cerebral hemorrhage on March 25 1935. Survived by nine children Ray Rex Helen Bonnie Esther Raymond Nellie Everett Rhue Marguerite and others, seven grandchildren and siblings James Emerson and Mrs Mattie Wright. Funeral held March 28 at Methodist church with Rev R Drew officiating. Burial in Green family plot.
