Mr and Mrs Otto Wenz and four children from a Blair Nebraska area farm visited the Wenz grandparents in Diller on Monday. Otto showed a contract with an oil company leasing his Blair area farm for oil purposes.
Mr and Mrs Francis Clark of Omaha spent a day in Diller and Steele City visiting the old home place at Steele City where Francis lived with his parents after high school. Only a foundation and ashes remain.
Mrs W Filley and her sister Mrs Combs drove to Benkleman Nebraska to visit their brother Geo Hollenberger and family. On the return trip they plan a stop in Stamford to see Supt Hubert Filley and his wife Supt and Mrs Filley.
The Book Lovers Club will be entertained at the home of Mrs. Ludington on Wednesday afternoon March 29. Mrs. O. J. Mayboro will review The Lamp in the Valley by Arthur Stringer about Alaska. Visitors are always welcome.
Mr and Mrs S C Hutchin of Diller visited Lincoln last Sunday where they met their son and wife Mr and Mrs Harold Hutchinson of Omaha After dinner at the Cornhusker Hotel and visiting the groups returned to their respective homes.
Mr and Mrs Wm Stewart stayed overnight Monday at their son’s home in Hollenberg where he suffers from a severe arm infection blood poisoning in one arm noted by local reporters
Mrs. Ben Roelfs underwent a major operation last Thursday at Lynch's Hospital in Fairbury and is reported to be getting along nicely.
Paul Pattmore has relocated to the old Webbling place six miles south of town. The Pattmores formerly resided on the Ab Cully place last year.
Lee Calkins reports a very good sale at his farm Monday with autos causing dust as they move through Diller around noon.
Mrs Creda Haggerman of Hollenberg Kansas visited at the home of her aunt Mrs Hattie Bell near Diller on Tuesday after.
Mrs Harold Logan welcomed her parents for a weekend visit. The couple then returned to their Iowa home on Sunday.
Mrs Anna Wright, living on her farm half a mile northeast of Diller, is having her residence repaired.
Mrs Joe Hiatt departed Tuesday for Iowa upon learning of her sister's death in a brief family notice.

John Bebrends and brothers Will and Arthur Milligan arrived Monday from Baxter Iowa to visit Mr and Mrs Wm Bebrends and relatives. They plan to return Sunday. They denied Bohemian nationality and noted their grandfather’s Irish connection to the town of Milligan Nebraska.
Beatrice lodge members Beatrice Lodge W S Filley Chas E Waggoner and John Steiner of Diller visited Odell to meet Station Agent W O Leeper and Rob J Potts of Beatrice Power Co. The group toured Beatrice and the Masonic Temple to witness three candidates receive the Entered Apprentice degree. Four visitors served as Masters Masons while Potts anticipated further light soon. The visitors reported an enjoyable evening.
A blaze Thursday noon consumed the Robert Garret residence in Steele City due to no local water supply. The furnace near the roof sparked the fire. most belongings were saved. The Clark house, built in 1912 by the late Cal Clark, valued roughly between 7,000 and 12,000 dollars, stood as a prominent local home.
Harold Bowers the Sutherland druggist has a forearm in a plaster cast after a skating accident last Wednesday night. His mother and Mrs Pickard express concern while Cecil Pickard battles appendicitis and Bill Bowers remains hospitalized in Virginia amid an outbreak in Fairbury.
Henry Fanders and Wm Lohman hauling shingles from this place to repair residences damaged by the storm of a week ago. Fanders lives 53 miles northwest of town and Lohman’s farm lies 5 percent miles north of town.
Mr and Mrs Volney Raymond and son Dick with Bob Green and Rhbhue Green of Los Angeles traveled from Lincoln Friday to visit relatives. They had dinner with Rex Green and family and returned to Lincoln late in the evening.
Mrs. Lillie Colman with Mrs. J. D. Fanders and Miss Elia Frericks of Fairbury called on the Orphanage Sunday afternoon and also paid a visit to Mrs. Cavett.
Seniors had their pictures taken with a Tuesday option and a Wednesday session for Diller. students decide individually whether to participate. The Pioneer Music Contest is set for March 31 with three sessions. A sectional declamation contest at Diller Opera House featured eight area schools with multiple students earning superior or excellent ratings. Special music was provided by Diller High School, judged by Miss Bery Kahlin of Nebraska Wesleyan, under Supt. F. Sinkey.
The Jefferson County Tax Payers League will hold a meeting in Fairbury on March 28 at 2 30 P M. The gathering after dinner will occur in the Chamber of Commerce rooms at the Mary Eton hotel with Frank G Arnold of the Federation of Taxpayers delivering the principal address.
Bruce Barton moved his family and personal effects onto the W. A. Snyder farm southeast of town last week. Joe Nippert purchased the Barton 80 acres with Willard Nippert to farm it.

W M Henrichs asks to change the record location from Conrath to Sheldon Wisconsin. A neighbor notes the Henrichs moved about a mile from their previous residence in recent years. They report heavy snow this winter but their operations remain open continually.
