Mrs Freeman Hall Returns from Lincoln Visit

Mrs Freeman Hall returned from Lincoln on Monday to her husband in Lincoln Sanitarium where last Saturday doctors operated for an abscess on his liver and gall bladder removing about a quart of pus. He is recovering and there is strong hope for his recovery.

Couple Married at German Lutheran Parsonage

John Senior and Annie Behrends wed Monday at the German Lutheran parsonage with Rev. Schaff officiating. Only close relatives attended a reception and dinner at the bride's parents home. They will reside on John Timm's farm, five miles south of Diller.

Members of Diller Lodge No. 1668 Modern Woodmen of America spoke in favor of building in Diller this season a structure with an opera house on the first floor and a lodge hall on the second, to be owned largely by the lodge and its members.

Missing Colfax hogs found buried in field

George Frost a Colfax County farmer reported five hogs missing in the last week of December. He and his son, while loading straw in a field, uncovered the animals hidden in a stack from about nine weeks earlier. The hogs were emaciated but began to recover after rescue. He suspects neighbors were involved.

Burlington Seeks Suspects After Train Shooting Near Humbolt

Burlington officials pursue parties near Humbolt connected to recent train shots. Doors and windows have been shattered on three occasions, endangering passengers and damaging rolling stock. The trouble began last fall when a stone hit a vestibule door on the seed corn special at the east end of the yards during daylight, but the culprit was never identified.
