Fire destroys Jordening's Store in Harbine blaze

A two story Harbine store owned by Ernest Jordening burned for nearly two hours beginning at 10 10 am. Post office records were saved, but meat refrigeration and 80 cases of eggs were ruined. Firefighters and a bucket brigade fought the flames. no injuries were reported.

Diller High School trio Naomi Snyder Darlene Novotny Camilla Hubka lead the district one act contest at Superior on March 19 with Jacob Comes Home earning the top Superior rating. Fairfield also scored with Jacob Comes Home and best actor Robert Yates, Hubbell and Shickley earned good ratings. Three plays move to the Opera House March 28. Le Roy Jordening elected treasurer of the freshman class.
