School and Village Candidates Named
Two caucuses were held at the town hall Wednesday evening to nominate candidates for the school and village terms. For the school board three year seats J Smith Diller and L M Cavett sought reelection, with Mrs Roy Geer and Mrs Dede Fanders on the opposing ticket. One year vacancy nominees were Lester Schmadeke and Mrs O J Mayborn. S C Moser, J Clauson and W E Anderson were named for village trustees. The picnic committee includes W E Anderson E E McCune and L M Caveer.

Emma Thompson Carpenter born August 28 1874 died February 25 1939 at her Ellis home. She married Rufus Thompson in 1894 and William Carpenter in 1913.
