Bindweed Eradication Advice For Jefferson Farmers
County Agent Flynn relays University of Nebraska findings on bindweed control through clean cultivation. A duck-foot cultivator or similar tillage tool is best, while shallow chopping is ineffective. Cultivate every two weeks until fall freezes stop growth, about four inches deep, totaling 12-14 cultivations first year and 6-10 second year. More frequent cultivation yields better results.
