Diller's annual picnic extends to a two day event August 9 and 10 with a Patriots theme. Organizers call for patriotic materials, military groups, children with flags, horses, decorated bikes, and comics to enhance the procession. Citizens urged to contribute ideas and join the 60th anniversary celebration under chairwoman Mrs. Scott Miller.
Mrs. Henrichs suffered a serious leg injury last Wednesday while gathering eggs in the barn two miles southwest of town. She stepped in a floor hole, breaking both bones above the left ankle. Taken to Odell hospital for reduction, she returned home Friday evening and is reported to be improving as her daughter Miss Eunice Henrichs R N cares for her.
The business street on Sunday buzzed with cars and people from about eight towns for a Lutheran young people's rally at the recreational hall. Trucks and trailers added dust as wheat was delivered to local elevators from nearby combines.
