Local notices from Methodist and Lutheran churches detail Sunday School at 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., worship services at 10:30 and 11 a.m., choir practices, and monthly meetings. Congregational updates include community events, personnel changes, and recent real estate transactions involving area residents and a visit by Diller family members.
The Malchow family thanks everyone who helped move their household goods after flood waters. They greatly appreciate the act of kindness from friends and neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Malchow and family.
The Diller Garden Club met Friday June 13 at city hall with roll call naming the shrub lilac. Roses were chosen as the June flower and displayed in bouquets. Discussion featured the Martin bird and its traits. Plans for a flower show were made. Mrs McKenzie of Fairbury attended as a guest. Reporter Mrs C O Smith.
Fairbury store thanks readers for help moving items from the service station to higher ground ahead of the flood. Miss Trene Greider underwent an appendectomy in Odell and is recovering well. Harold Kunecke broke his right wrist while visiting relatives and was treated at Lynch hospital with a cast. Mrs Dean Barber and Dennis of Pueblo arrive to visit relatives in Fairbury. Harold previously broke a leg after a fall from a garage roof in Lincoln.
