The Diller Community Club met Thursday at City Hall at 8 pm. Motion pictures will preview local scenes. many new clips were shot and promise surprising differences. Members and families invited. A parade plans note urges community entries with a horse division bands historical and 4 H sections and more. The Garden Club sponsored colorful flower show earned praise and a $20 donation from the club toward the event. Publicity chair Mrs S A M.

Death of Alfred Drexier former Diller merchant
Alfred Drexier 65 known as Drexler died Monday at his home north of Gladstone. Survived by wife, son Fred, daughter Mary Dr Aubrey Drexier of Diller Bloomington Indiana teaches Greek at University of Lodiana. He came by plane for a ten day visit and planned to go to Harvard for the summer. Cemetery board seeks donations for upkeep and invites gifts to Bert Bell Hod Green Rev Watters and family move to Guide Rock new pastorate. Esther Young will assume duties at Diller Ellie Sunday.

Indian Creek surged Sunday after heavy rains, flooding Diller area. Water four feet deep in office and garage, two buried tanks washed out, bridges damaged, tracks washed out east of town, trains halted, mail delivery resumed by route Wednesday. Residents evacuated, stores and homes affected, with extensive grain and feed losses noted.

Double wedding at Centenary Methodist Beatrice
Harold and Howard Lichty of Beatrice wed Cleo Betty McCown of Diller and Jeannine King of Beatrice in a double ceremony at Centenary Methodist Church Friday evening. Rev Dienes officiated before 300 guests as cakes were cut and a Colorado honeymoon followed. The brides wore white gowns and roses, with receptions in pastel lighted church parlors.
