The Colman Hotel seeks a dining room girl for duty in the dining room. 11 Mrs. A H Colman was a Burlington passenger for Omaha yesterday. The Diller Telephone Co distributes a newly issued directory from its office.
Special Notice. Photography open every Wednesday. M. Haretr. Earl Knouse visited Diller relatives and friends then returned to Beatrice. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Osborn left Wednesday to visit friends at Topeka before returning to Racine Wisconsin. John Mathias grows mammoth Japanese radishes and left one leaf at this office yesterday.
Mrs. Alta Werhan returned to Salina Kansas after visiting here with her mother Mrs. Hannah Adams and sister Mrs. Billy Riddle.
An old advertisement touts Hollister's Rocky Mountain Tea as a natural bowel regulator and tonic for thirty years. It claims relief from constipation and strengthens executive organs, priced at 35 cents for tea or tablets from Neelys Pharmacy.
Announcement in the Recor states a special train to the Fairbury July Fourth celebration will run on Monday July 5th via Wymore and pass through Diller. Readers are urged to have their girls ready for the passage.
Miss L. O. Ballard will hold a semiannual sale starting June 25 and running past July 4. Discounts include 50 percent off on trimmed and untrimmed hats, children's hoods, and related items, plus 25 percent off on flowers and chiffons.
Dr Claude Ellis the dentist will be out of town Thursdays and Fridays. The Christian Endeavor earned 25 dollars Saturday night from an ice cream social on Miller s lawn. We will pay a nickel apiece for the first six copies of the Record dated June 18. Bring them to the office. Mrs A H Colman hosted a five o clock tea last Thursday for her sister in law Mrs Leslie Osborn with many guests. Anyone wishing to buy a high class piano should call at this office to see the new one for sale at a moderate price.
Mrs. C J Davis was surprised Sunday by a visit from her father L S Jones of Battle Creek Michigan who plans a move for her to his city soon.
Ben Henriche and Roy Patton returned Sunday from Colorado. Ben came home due to illness showing typhoid fever symptoms and appears to be recovering.

Del Monaamith lost a finger in his father's threshing engine on Monday. His brother Homer was repairing the engine for good roads work and warned him to stay clear, but Del did not hear the warning and the finger was nearly severed at the joint, necessitating amputation.
The community records visits and travels among Steele City Endicott Odell and Beatrice residents. Emma Kelley comes for a visit to Mrs. Adams. Miss Eva Crocker returns from Endicott and will teach there next year. The M W A adopts new candidates and a school election is set for next Monday at 2 pm with votes by women paying taxes or having college students.
Robert Patton, treated in Beatrice for a broken leg over several weeks, was discharged last Thursday in 8.3 J. Senior's car. He is recovering but not fully back to health yet.
The water bonds were defeated with 109 votes cast, 71 for and 38 against. If two of the opposing voters had supported the measure, the bonds would have carried, leaving Diller on the cusp of obtaining waterworks.
The Dorcas society of the M. E. church held a farewell for Mrs E E Dunn at Mrs C N Browns home yesterday afternoon. Dunn plans to leave the city for Diller where her husband, an auditor for the Burlington with headquarters in Wymore, has been transferred. She received a tea set and a remembrance token.
Mrs Elizabeth Davidson aged seventy six is ill with a mamia at the home of her daughter Mrs J H Carmichael in Enid Oklahoma where relatives gathered to aid her recovery. Her son from Humboldt Nebraska and Solomon Edwards and wife a sister of Mr Carmichael are visiting to help. Mrs Davidson died at noon yesterday and was moved to Auburn Nebraska for burial.

Farms hold 315 000 bushels of corn and 17 500 wheat, with 1 985 rye, 28 000 oats and 24 975 tons of hay and alfalfa. Citizens own 40 025 dozen chickens and 753 cream separators. Old People's Day will be observed in the Presbyterian church next Sabbath morning with a sermon at 11 o'clock. Only the good old home will be sung. A cordial invitation is extended to all the old people in the community and others of all ages to attend.

The measure aims to improve public highways, interstate travel, military use, and rural post routes. It seeks international and state cooperation with the federal government and would authorize a National Commission on Highway Improvement.
