Dr Ellis will be away Thursday and Friday. Postmaster Hutchinson painted the post office exterior. farmers seek help. Odell Wave changes hands. cattle traded at St Joe market. piano for sale.
A series of short notes reports visits by Miss Gladys Mudge and relatives in Beatrice Geo. Juvithit Tixener, Riepon, Misa Ethel Mudgwe, and families. Fred Henrichs shipped cattle to Kansas City market. J. C. Herwig of Humboldt visited relatives. Perley Miller heads to Grand Island for road work with Atlantic Refining Co. Lt. Loock and family visited Hanover Kan, bringing Dorothy to join Mrs. Loock’s niece.
Earl Knouse visiting his uncle Steve Maw flew to Beatrice Monday evening. Two friends drove down to pick him up to pitch for the Y M C A team of which he is a member.
The 13th annual fraternal picnic in Diller was organized with committees from AOUW MWA D of H and RNA. Officers elected included President Thos Price Secretary A L Tinatman and Treasurer S C Hutchinson. The event is scheduled for Thursday August 12 with hopes to surpass past picnics.
A good rain was reported on Wednesday while Standard Deering twine sold for 9 cents at J. D. Flanders'. A large amount of twine is being hauled into the country. Mrs Jennie Bixby returned Saturday from visiting relatives in Simpson Kansas. Christ Kielsmeier and Dr Claude Ellis installed private water works in their homes. Miss Montgomery a missionary in India will lecture at the M E church Friday evening admission free. W F Warthen and family visited relatives from Beattie Kansas traveling 49 miles in under two hours. Miss L O Ballard announces a semiannual sale beginning June 25 with 50 percent off on trimmed and untrimmed hats and 25 percent off on flowers and chiffons.
Mr and Mrs Ensley Carmichael and Mr and Mrs Soloman Edwards visited relatives at Hoag from Friday to Sunday. The Edwardses returned Monday to their home in Oklahoma via Labnings and Kan visiting more relatives along the way.
A year old boy became entangled on a wire fence by his bonnet string and was nearly exhausted before his mother freed him. A doctor was summoned by phone and revived the child who is now recovering on one side, after an incident earlier this week.
Special train will run from Wymore to Fairbury next Monday July Sth for the Fourth of July celebration. Departure times: Wymore 7 a.m. Odell 7:20 a.m. Diller 7:40 a.m. Endicott 8:00 a.m. Arrive Fairbury 8:20 a.m. Return from Fairbury at 11:30 p.m. Round trip tickets encouraged.

Miss Mae Tauxan, who visited Diller with Miss Habicht, returned to Odell.
In Fairbury the district court heard the case of Sam Bristol, accused of enticing a girl from Fairbury to Wahoo. He pled guilty and received a one year sentence in the penitentiary. A patriotic song service is planned after the July 1 sermon reference.
Loock and Habicht install Spear Drug Co surplus show cases and counters as they upgrade the building to a fine business place. Jeweler A D Colman relocates stock into the former Spear Drug Co room inviting old and new customers for watches clocks and jewelry at right prices.
The Davis family thanks the people of Diller and nearby towns for love, kindness and sympathy during illness and death of their son. Dr. Mark Davis near death many times, but rallied to celebrate his ninety fifth birthday last Saturday with friends, flowers and cards. The family gratefully recalls the support and wishes a happy future to all who remembered them. Beat Rice Express.
