New Homestead Act Expands Land Patent Window
The new homestead act signed by the President on June 6 reduces residency from five years to 21 months. Entrymen can prove actual residence of 7 months each year and secure patent after three years, accelerating land claims for homes on public land.
Methodist Sunday School and Rock Creek Services
Sunday School held at 10 a m with preaching each Sunday morning and evening and on alternate Sunday mornings. Prayer meeting Thursday evenings at 8. Choir rehearsal Wednesday evening. Sunday services at Rock Creek 11 a m and 8 p m. The last quarterly meeting of the conference year at Diller on the 30th with Rev R No Orrill in attendance. Children’s Day at Rock Creek drew about 75 pupils. the cantata Hearts of Gold was presented amid decorated surroundings. Annual conference meets Beatrice this year with Rev E B Maxcy.

Sabbath changes at Presbyterian Church for June 23
There will be no Sabbath school or preaching next Sabbath morning June 23. Instead, at 11 a.m. the children will hold a Day exercises. The Sabbath school will render a program and usual services follow in the evening. Pastor Wm Boyle announces.
