Innis Family in Manila Internees Share Life

Lincoln State Journal reports Rev. C. F. Innis learns of son David Innis and family in Manila from a letter said to be by Charmian Boomer. The letter, relayed from Tokyo by radio, describes Santo Tomas internment, garden, music teaching, cooking on a coal stove, and hopes for reunion.

Roseman Son Wounded in Tunisian Campaign

An official War Department notice received June 4 by Mrs. Sadie Roseman informs her son Pfc Marvin Roseman has been wounded in the Tunisian campaign against German forces. This marks the first official indication that Diller boys are in the European war theater.

Three Horses Killed in Storm Strike on Leonard Richardson Farm

During last Friday night’s heavy electrical storm three of Leonard Richardson’s horses were struck and killed by lightning, while a fourth was slightly injured. The loss was partially covered by insurance.

Piano and Voice Recital by Lewis Williams at Presbyterian Church

Lewis John Williams of Steele City will present a piano and voice recital at the Presbyterian church Sunday evening June 20 at 8 30 P M. The sophomore at Wayne State Teacher's College Wayne Nebraska has studied with Albert G Carlson Russel Anderson and formerly with Dr Ralph Robbins. Piano selections include McDowell and Rachmaninoff and vocal numbers feature works by de Koven Handel and Mendelssohn. Vocal accompaniment is by Mrs Chester Wilcox of Steele City.

C A Tiny Robson suffered a deep cut to the right leg when a railroad tie slipped and fell on him while he helped carry it last Friday. He was taken to Odell hospital for treatment.
