Advertisement urges monthly deposits in the Savings Department to earn four percent interest compounded twice a year. It notes savings can wait for a salary raise and promotes Beatrice area services and local notices.
A Sunday evening storm northeast of Diller dropped two hours of rain with hail half the time. Frank Vieth reported four inches of rain and deep hail in low spots, while wheat oats and fruit suffered damage. Corn rows washed, some needing replanting. bridges washed out and knee deep hail in places.
Joshua Robertson died Sunday afternoon at 62 after a rheumatic kidney illness. He lived four miles southwest of Diller and attended his mother's funeral in York Neb. He is survived by his wife and three daughters among others. His death followed a life of community service and fraternal membership.

The purchase marks the sixteenth car owned by Diller residents, listing owners including A Mayborn J Smith Willer Patton Broc Thos Price A H Colman Dr OC Diehl J D Fanders Dr J G Neely J H Miller W N Sparks Dr H Bauguess A L Tristman Christ Kissemeier and Mrs Jennie Bixby.
Mrs. H. A. Beil visited Weeping Water and Lincoln yesterday. Mrs. E. B. Maxcy and children returned from Fairbury and Reynolds. Miss Renelda Fanders began work at Pease's drug store in Fairbury Monday. Pickard & Co warns buyers to inspect McCormick mowers.
