John Mathias renewed for the RecORD yesterday. The Diller Mer. Co. pays 23 cents for butter fat. Dr Claude Ellis will be out of town Thursday and Friday. Nellie Gridley may have stayed with Mrs. Wm. Nida and will return to Humboldt. Piano sale at the office offers a new instrument at a moderate price. Elsie and Anna Tjaden, visiting with seniors, returned to Peoria Illinois.

C G Catlin filed for the Republican nomination for county treasurer. He has run an implement business in Fairbury for six years and previously spent seven years handling payroll for the Rock Island railroad in Fairbury, chalking up ample experience for the office if nominated and elected.

New Law: Elect Assessors for Townships This Year

The Adams County Democrat reports under the new law each township must elect an assessor this year and then every second year. The county assessor remains head of the force with no change in duties, only the appointment of deputy assessors is curtailed.
