Congregational Church with Rev. Robert A Helms as pastor and W A Snyder as superintendent offers Sunday School at 10 a m. Church services at 11 a m. Evening service at 8 p m with S G Haughey preaching at eight. Special song service. all are invited.
Mrs. L. M. Cavett supervises the Sunday School at 10 A M with aims to boost attendance and weekly support. Special musical numbers are planned with a vocal duet last week praised and thanks extended for the ice cream social. Mr Cal Waggoner and family visited Lincoln relatives Tuesday.
The sermon text for next Sunday at St Pauls Evangelical Lutheran near Diller centers on Matthew 5 20 26. It asks how one can obtain righteousness that surpasses the Pharisees and scribes and what constitutes true righteousness beyond religious acts.
Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Cully and their sons Lynn and Gale and Dean Barber were Sunday dinner guests at the home of his father J. A. Cully and daughter Grayce in Beatrice.
The N R C met at Mrs. Frank Grone's home with thirteen members and four visitors Albers Erma Sible Sylvia Sible and Helen Frisbie. Afternoon was spent with rook prizes won by Mrs. Ase Richardson high and Miss Helen Frisbie second. Dainty refreshments were served.

Mrs. Mary Wright struggles with biliousness while Miss Flossie Raymond visits Lincoln relatives for a few days.
Mrs. Mattie Clark of Guide Rock visits the D. W. Fanders home this week. Miss Pearl Caldwell enjoys a visit with cousins Gertrude and Evelyn Weyer in Fairbury.
The Reynolds team routed Diller on Friday with a dominant performance. Local players hesitated to reveal the final score, underscoring the lopsided nature of the game.
Mrs. E. J Catlett enjoyed the singing and devotional exercises led by Mrs. Clarence Steffen and her class of boys at her home during Bible study hour. Miss Frances Hilder returned home after visiting relatives in Wymore, greeted by her parents Mr. Charney Hilder and Mrs. Charney Hilder at the Upson home.
Mr and Mrs Millard Gemeny after a reunion with sister Mrs C L Waggoner and brothers H A and B A Bell and their families left Saturday for Los Angeles California. They planned a short stop in Junction City Kansas to visit relatives.
Mrs A P Neimeyer and her young daughter Virginia depart by automobile with her brother Paul Helms and sister in law Clara Neimeyer to return to Chicago after visiting Rev and Mrs R A H. They will attend the Worlds Fair and spend time with relatives before leaving.
Mrs Anna M Kisser aged 73 mother of Mrs Noah Handley of west of Steele City died last Friday at her daughter's home in St Louis prior to moving to live there Funeral services were held Monday at the Handley home Rev Filinger of Steele City officiated Burial was in Fairbury cemetery
The Diller picnic in three weeks features a program committee led by R. W. Green and Rex A. Green coordinating platform entertainers and speakers. A large pageant is planned with a parade headlined by the new Diller band. Concession duties fall to C. L. Geer and W. E. Anderson for stand privileges, and the Collier Comedians will provide tent entertainment.
Mr and Mrs Noah J Handley from west of Steele City visited Diller on Tuesday. They were noted as visitors in local activity.
Mr and Mrs S J Gallup of Hutchinson Kansas spent the weekend visiting their cousin Mrs E J Catlett.
Mrs Ouke Franzen of Steele City visited Thursday of last week with her aunts Mesdames Susie and Mary Brandt, sharing time and family talk.
Diller Wiebe's Beatrice squad, a 16 run team, fell to Steele City in a high scoring game. Diller will face He Herkimer Kansas here next.
The Saturday evening band concert begins promptly at 8 30. It features a forty five minute program before the band members head to a night event to perform again.
Will Light New Picnic Grounds purchase a transformer and install it in a ventirous position to supply electricity to the new park beside the Ss water pumpingage in the north part of town. Dilleric will visit this year on Wednesday and Thursday August 16 and 17. The park will be pretty for picnics but may lack shade for a year or two.
Letter from home from residents expresses hope for rain before the Oteg picnic. Subscribers mention crops needing moisture and plan to attend the yearly gathering if weather cooperates.
Mr and Mrs Raleigh Bell and their daughter Sueann of Lincoln spent Sunday with his parents Mr and Mrs H A Bel Hollis Limprecht who had visited his uncle and aunt Mr and Mrs Willis Clark returned Sunday to Lincoln.
Mrs Gladys Gaebler of Winside and Mrs John Miller and Edwin of Lincoln spent several days this week at the home of Mr and Mrs Scott Miller. They returned home yesterday.
Mrs Anna Rhodes and her son John from Beatrice visited Dr Diehl and Mrs W C Steffensmeyer in Lincoln. Meanwhile Mrs Carl Braasch of Shea died after an operation at Odell hospital. Funeral plans set for Sunday with burial in Prairie Home cemetery.
Mrs. W. A. Snyder shows improvement at this writing following a recent illness spell.
