Rev. Robert A Helms pastors Congregational Church with W A Snyder superintendent. Sunday School starts at 10 o'clock and church services at 11 A M. Evening services follow at 8 o'clock.
Mrs L M Cavett will lead the Sant. S. S. Sunday School at 10 A M at the Methodist Episcopal Church in the church notice.
St Pauls Evangelical Lutheran near Diller reports Rev L J Wolff and W H Plager plan services and Sunday school at 9 30, plus 10 30 German confessional and communion. Local social notes mention women’s teams playing kitten ball, ice cream social at the M E church, Miller band concerts, and regional drouth relief after rain.
Mrs Maude LaGoorge of Kansas City, visiting with her mother Mrs Susie Brandt, returned Sunday after a short visit with relatives in Lincoln.
A large crowd attended a free Tuesday night movie sponsored by Diller merchants. The wild western play entertained well and another show is planned for next Tuesday night.
Thirty three Jefferson county youths join the University of Nebraska Lincoln for the current summer session. The group includes 19 residents of Fairfield Fairbury 3 from Jansen 2 from Daykin 2 from Harbine 2 from Endicott 2 from Plymouth 2 from Diller and 1 from Powell. From Diller are Minnie Wehling a teachers college junior and Pearl Sparks a freshman in the teachers college.
Mrs Ruth Pickard of Fairbury formerly Diller receives a July 4 letter from her son William Bowers in the U S Navy. He says they are at Pier 39 San Francisco and will sail June 6 toward Seattle then toward Alaska by inland route and return by open sea stopping at Skagway Seward and Port Angles with a visit to Muis Glacier Bay. She expects his return in late summer.
Raymond Hill of National City California stopped in Tuesday for a brief visit with the Diller relatives and called on Mr A J Hill Mr and Mrs E E Hill and the May borns during his eastward trip.

Mrs. Margaret Hiatt and daughter Orpha Lee of Hebron visited their mother and grandmother Mrs. S. M. Hughes to help celebrate her 81st birthday. They returned home Wednesday evening.
Mrs J C Allen of Honolulu Hawaii formerly Clara Steiner of Diller renews for the Record last week using the offer to send three magazines each one year for an additional 50c. The Record believes many of its readers would be pleased to see a letter from Mrs Allen published in its columns.

Mr and Mrs Jordiah Lanman came from Lincoln to spend Saturday evening through Sunday with her parents Ex Commissioner and Mrs W J Woous as their guests.
A Diller men's kittenball team traveled to Ellis Monday night but found the Ellis squad unorganized. A picked up team formed and kept the crowd engaged for a while with a lively, informal contest.
L. Viv Raymond along with Phyllis Joe and Bob spent Sunday afternoon and evening at the home of his mother Mrs Isabella Raymond and family. Lal orrest departed Monday for Denver to headquarter in the Miles Medical Co western territory work.
Carroll Diller an electrical engineer now in Shrieveport Louisiana employed by the Southern Cities Distribution Co sent in his subscription for The Record during the past week He is described as a former Diller boy and a son of J Smith Diller fellow citizen good standing.
The note details Ed Hamblin of Woodward Oklahoma died July 8 aged 78 years 5 months 20 days and the transport of his body to Prairie Home cemetery for burial beside his wife. Ed Hamblin Jr and family attended the service, with Rev J Fillinger presiding at the grave in Steele City.
Mr and Mrs Frank Tucker visited Sunday with sister Mrs A Bully and family while enrolled to their home in Denver having spent the past four weeks in Chicago Detroit and Columbus.
Relatives from Diller and Lincoln gathered Wednesday at Chautauqua Park in Beatrice to honor Mrs. Fred Walker formerly Marguerite Green of Fremont. The couple recently returned from their wedding trip to Denver. Attendees enjoyed many useful gifts and a prime dinner.
The processing tax on wheat 30 cents per bushel went into effect at midnight Saturday raising flour and bread costs. Farmers may exchange wheat for flour without tax, while merchants have 30 days to clear existing stocks. A Diller Sea club delegation including Hutchinson and Dr By Vries with Rep Frank Wells urged Lincoln officials to add the nine mile Diller link between Highways 3 and 385 to the state system. they were heard but not acted, with notes for future highway commission guidance.
Regraveling work underway on State highway No. 3S formerly marked as No. 86 between Odell and Steele City. The remark about energy contrasts with the effort to avoid work, noting the country’s character.
Work will start soon on the P W F highway from the Midway oil station on the Cornhusker highway west to the Jefferson county line, one mile east of the Diller cemetery.
At J B Claussen’s farm one mile south of the Kilpatrick ranch John Gerth drilled 175 feet to strike an artesian well. Water rises three feet above ground at about a quarter gallon per minute. The nearby 35 foot well went dry in the drought and the new well lies near the old one, likely tapping the same water vein as Kilpatrick’s.
