The AAA offers over 6000 wooden grain bins in Nebraska for sale to farmers to store 1942 wheat and other crops. Capacity about 12 million bushels. prices at cost plus erection and painting, 1600 to 2800 bushels priced 16 to 19 cents per bushel. Buyers may pay cash or note due Dec 31 1944. bins movable or keepable at away sites until Aug 1 1945. Grain stored earns AAA loans. steel bins remain unavailable.

Robert Glathar Becomes Pvt. Studies for Officer Training

In a letter to his parents, Robert Glathar reports a transfer to Palo Alto California. His rating was reduced from Sergeant to Private to join officer candidate training at Stanford University. Former Diller Boy Returns From Panama Canal Zone

Ouka Franzen and his stepson Sgt Allen Nelson visited friends in Diller on Tuesday. Nelson serves in the Army Air Corps Medical Dept and spent three years at the Panama Canal Zone. He will be transferred to Patterson Field in Dayton Ohio for new duties and is staying with his parrots in Steele City this week.

Navy Seabees officer to visit Fairbury for reenlistment calls

Lieutenant Downes, Construction Officer with the Seabees of the U S Navy, will be in Fairbury on Tuesday July 20 on the second floor of the Court House to interview Jefferson County men aged 17 to 50 with construction skills for service in the Navy. He will provide ratings for volunteers and explain pay and benefits for dependents. Continued on Page 4.

Obituary for Gretchen Wohlfarth of Diller

Gretchen Wohlfarth born November 11 1892 in Ottawa Ohio died July 10 1943 at Odell hospital aged 50 years 7 months 29 days after major surgery. A longtime Diller resident she served as Assistant Postmaster bookkeeper cashier and postmaster and held roles with the Diller Telephone Company and Public Library. She leaves her mother Dora Wohlfarth sister Lillian Ellis brother in law Dr Cecil Ellis nephew Roger Ellis and many relatives and friends. Services were held at Wagone r Bros Funeral Home and Congregational church with interment in Prairie Home cemetery.

War Ration Book III is already valid when received by the consumer. The consumer should fill in personal description data on the book so it can be returned if lost. The Jefferson County War Price and Ration board has received requests to fill in data, but all data can be filled in at home.

Gasoline coupons require license numbers on all books

An amendment from the district Office of Price Administration requires that Class A gasoline coupons bear the vehicle license number and state of registration on each coupon issued before July 22 and on all coupons issued after July 22 the information must be printed immediately upon receipt. The item also contains notes on personnel visits and a naval battle article by Max F. Braash, with excerpts about Big B and the Solomons battle.
