William Warren Stephens Dies in Exeter
Wm Warren Stephens, known as Grandpa Stephens, dies after illness. Funeral held in Exeter with burial in Friend. Survived by four daughters and three sons, 15 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren. Diller relatives Wayne Stephens Wm Wrigley Richard Stephens attended. Lorren Stephens and family and Wm Wrigley and Richard Stephens of Wymore also present.

The Diller girls softball team traveled to Odell for an afternoon game and won 12 to 10. Bethlee Baumfolk Ail hit the game’s only homer as Diller prepares for Friday night match with Barneston. A seventh daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Kinho in Beatrice.

Fire Department Responds to Harbine Fire Arson Suspected
Firefighters from Diller answered a Sunday night alarm at 10 08 p m to the Chicken Hut Inn in a private home in Harbine Smoke issued from an upper story and a smoldering mattress within a single room indicated arson The fire chief notified county authorities who arrested owner Vivian Heuretz and her son Sam for suspected arson and related charges with fuel oil scattered throughout the house

Car Crash In Diller Involves Wheat Trailer
A wheat trailer unhooked from a tractor in Diller struck Leonard Roelfs parked car in front of the post office. The tractor was driven by John Garton. The trailer sustained damage as a result of the collision.
