W F Myers and family who had stayed with Diller relatives during the shutdown at the Havelock shops where he works returned Saturday to their home in Havelock.
Prof James A Eastwood former superintendent of Diller High School has accepted a position as an instructor in the Springview schools the county seat of Keya Paha county.
Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Habicht and children took the elder Mrs. Marie Habicht to Normal Sunday. They returned her to the home of her daughter Mrs. C. L. E. Blauser after her visit.
Mr and Mrs Norman Jondit traveled from California to Wisconsin by the Monday morning train for a brief visit with his cousin Mrs Paul Stange and her husband They left that evening by car to visit relatives in Washington Kansas in a tight travel itinerary for the period.
Mrs H M Hollie returns home Friday from Marysville Kansas where she was operated on for appendicitis and is recovering rapidly. She is accompanied by Mrs Henry Hollie of Herkimer Kansas who will stay with her for a while.
Mrs. Isabelle Wieths and daughter Hilda visit relatives in Rock Island and Davenport Iowa. Miss Elsie Wiedemeyer of Tipstmans boarding house returns from Byron. C and Geer manager. Miss Ethel Woods leaves for New York to attend Columbia University summer school and will teach next year in Fairbury.
Mr and Mrs J W Fouts and daughters Seanelie and Averi left Monday in their car for West Point to visit the home of their son and family.
A southern Kansas firm holds a contract to furnish 500 head this fall to a buyer located in Oklahoma.
Rev Aug Dumin of Sheboygan Wisconsin has accepted the pastorate at the Refor church between Diller and the minister and moved into the parsonage with his family. Myrtle Shuligthe former store employee at Farmers Asiin resides with Mr and Mrs Shuligthe and returned Sunday to their home after a stay with relatives.
Behrens estate may pass to Mrs. George Miller of Diller if an adoption proves legal else a sister inherits. The property includes a town residence and household effects valued at several hundred dollars, with about 600 dollars cash after debts. Dr. Murray who served as guardian may be appointed administrator.
John A. Zook of Fresno California a former Diller boy visited Friday and Saturday with his sister Mrs Sam Thompson and family. He was returning from a trip to Chicago where he went on behalf of a train men's brotherhood in which he is an official.
Diller defeated Fairbury 4 to 3 on Sunday, pulling into first place with Fairbury tied for second after both teams had two losses. The game was close from start to finish as Diller rallied in the ninth inning to score the final two runs. Next Sunday Diller hosts Harbine and fans are urged to attend.

Clark and Miss Josephine Skalla were married in Marysville Kansas on June 28 at 4 30 p m The Rev R M Salts officiated Only guests were Mr and Mrs R L Skalla Afterward the couple visited Blue Rapids and were hosted by the bride’s parents A reception followed at the groom’s parents home They plan to reside in Diller with a later move.
Miss Flora Waggoner visits her parents Mr and Mrs T H Waggoner then leaves Monday for Omaha to pursue a nurses training course at the Methodist hospital.
The 1918 graduates gathered for a reunion five years after graduation. All attended except Lloyd Callander and Raleigh Bell. Attendees included Nellie Green Mary Frisbie Florence Nickeson Isabelle Fouts Carroll Diller Harold Hutchinson and John Hilder. They searched for a vigil box then shared ice cream cake and bananas at the Greens home and sang of old times before departing.
Dr G H Newton practiced eye ear nose and throat care in Fairbury Nebraska offering optometric and ENT services in the local medical scene.
