More Farm Tenants Less Owners In Nebraska
Nebraska saw a sharp rise in farm tenancy over five years with 4,800 more tenants than 1930 and a drop of 400+ full owners. Tenants now operate about 49 percent of farms in Nebraska, while nationwide census data show rising tenancy and 43 percent of US farms run by tenants.
