Henry R Henrichs born November 26 1870 in Peoria Illinois died December 30 1949 in Wichita Kansas at 79. He married Nettie Brandt March 15 1892 celebrating 57 years. Survived by widow a daughter Adalyn Riley two sons Virgal and Ed a sister Josie Moore a half sister Erma McAlroy six grandsons and five great grandchildren. Funeral January 3 burial at Old Cemetery Wichita.

County Appraisal Committee Formed for Local Towns

The county commissioners appointed a three member county appraisal committee to oversee real estate appraisals in Fairbury Diller Plymouth and surrounding towns. Members Max Logan William F Bershe and Joseph Rothmeier will oversee work contracted to E T Wilkens and associates of Cleveland Ohio for 13000 and payable 750 per day plus six cents a mile travel. Work to begin soon.

PMA Conducts Corn Survey in Jefferson County

The Jefferson County PMA invites corn growers to cooperate with community committeemen conducting a countywide survey of corn acreage. Reports cover 1947 to 1949 history to set 1950 acreage allotments. farmers with no recent corn must request an allotment by January 25 1960. Allotments apply to all Jefferson County corn farms.

Mrs. Albers Dies at 82 in Diller

Mrs. Margaret Albers 82 died after a lingering illness at Odell hospital. Funeral services will be held Sunday from St. Pauls Lutheran church in Diller. Mrs Ralph Stefford was clerking at Jordenings Store Tuesday during a rush.

Fowler Sells to Jordening Marks Local Store Transition

Mr. Fowler sold Fowler's Store, once Faraiec's Store, to Jordening with possession by February 15. Jordening plans to repair the upper story opera house for use. Rumors say Herman Sist may buy the grocery block to open his own store. Fowler bought the store in 1948 and employed Hermann Stahland. LaRee Pahten and Joe Legget referenced in local notices. Legget was found dead at home Odell from a heart attack.

Birthday Party Honors Diller Longevity Figures

The Diller community marked its birthday anniversary with a large event at the DHS gym January 5. Attendees included out of town guests and town elders while Miss Fannie Diller 80 and Samuel Diller’s granddaughter helped honor longtime residents with gifts and floral tributes. Notables such as Hap Filey and Dr. Claude Ellis received salutes for long service and residence, with many residents 50 to 92 years connected to the town.
