Northrup Family to Perform at M E Church March 5

Carl Franzen and Mrs Bracken announce the Northrup Tree as performers at the M E Church next Wednesday night March 5. The act was delayed by flu but is now set to appear. The Northrups come highly recommended as entertainers of exceptional ability.

Store closed until Wednesday March 5th with a historic sale to begin that day.

Farmers Union Co Operative Store signs groceries deal

The Farmers Union Co-Operative Store contracts with O F Rigdon for stock purchase terms. J J Reinhardt returned from Ft Omaha after balloon service discharge and resumes law practice with Hainer Craft Edgerton in Aurora. The Diller Lecture Course ends with two musical numbers on March 5 and March 20 at the Methodist church. Tickets in advance at Shutt's Pharmacy are 75 cents with a family limit of three. after March 2 price rises to 50 cents plus war tax for remaining numbers.

Women’s Club Notes At City Hall Meeting

The Women’s Club met at City Hall on Tuesday. Musical numbers by high school girls were enjoyed and the Patriotic program was well received. Nine new applicants were received as charter members and time for charter members was extended by two weeks. The next meeting will be at City Hall on Tuesday March 11 at 8 pm.

Subscription policy and fatal coal oil explosion near Diller

A notice explains prepaid obligations and allows subscribers to refuse delivery. It also reports 47 year old Walter Baker dying from burns after a coal oil can exploded while he started a fire at a farm near Blue Springs and Diller. His wife and eight children survive. burial occurred in Blue Springs Cemetery.
