Onka Lottmans celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on February 14 with family gathering at their home. Children and grandchildren presented a radio as a gift. ice cream tea and coffee were served in the afternoon. Mrs. Heagey Hemminger is recovering from recent surgery at Mennonite Hospital in Beatrice. Governor Boyd, long active in politics, served in the legislature and constitutional conventions, and was Omaha mayor and Democratic national committeeman for Nebraska.

Bartling Home Fire Destroys Harbine Residence
The Bartling home in Harbine was destroyed by a fire believed caused by an oil burner on the enclosed porch. Most household goods were saved. kitchen furnishings were lost. Diller Fire Department responded at 1:30 a m with strong winds hindering efforts to save the structure. Arthur Hensche, recently released from hospital, is recovering. pneumonia cases prompted hospital stays. Mr and Mrs Max Logan returned from a three week southern trip and visited the Diller family in Shreveport.

The Beatrice Community Club plans a Thursday 8 p.m. meeting in the gymnasium on February 23. The club chorus will entertain and Jimmie Fidler's tie will be auctioned for the March of Dimes benefit.
