St Valentine’s day notes report F E Tincher of Fairbury as a Diller visitor. Miss Margaret Cherry traveled to DeWitt to nurse a patient. John Jamison schedules a public sale on March 4. E S Dunn traveled to Omaha for a state Farmers Union convention. FW Steffen announces a public sale on Tuesday February 8 with advertisement inside.
Red River and farmer claimants in Wyoming are linked as A. D. Stotts and Miss Clara Steiner with her brother John arrive in a Ford. J. W. Hayworth postponed a sale from yesterday to next Monday February 7 due to bad weather.
A patch of agricultural notes mentions white seed corn yields and seed strains. Local social items report Sunday dinners at the Musser residence in Fairbury with the Fisher Musser family, and travels to a Kansas midwinter shooting tournament.
Mrs Elias Hadley and Mrs John Pulee were summoned to Wymore Wednesday due to the death of Mrs McManes at her daughter Mrs Ed Ogden’s home. Remains were taken to Sidney for burial beside her husband F M McManes, who died last May. The McManes once lived in Diller.

The Diller families were quarantined for influenza during the past week as the board of health enforced state law. A notice notes exposure within households and adherence to quarantine rules. The item also advertises seed corn for sale at $3.00 per bushel and an upcoming Odell masquerade with band music, prizes, tickets priced at $1.00.
Those who contributed and those who wish to help are asked to pay subscriptions to the finance committee H F Green George Fisher and W C Line.
The Miller family of Hemingford Nebraska thanks friends in Steele City Diller and Hemingford for kindness help in their time of sorrow and for the lovely floral offerings.

Bills for sale are on order by A B Steffen and Diller and by B F Henrichs. The listing also notes 11 head of horses 5 cows 27 hogs and various farm machinery. W N Sparks and family attended the funeral of Mrs Martha Sparks buried in an Oklahoma cemetery.
A meeting of the Diller Home Guard is called for Thursday night February 2. Oliver Furrow is listed among those expected to attend.
The Missionary Society of the Presbyterian church will meet with Mrs. WC Line on Saturday February 15 at 2 30 p m Miss Fannie Diller will lead the gathering The meeting marks the quarterly offering time.
A meeting of the Three Farmers Union is set for 1:30 PM Saturday February 5 at the Diller Opera House. Farmers interested in the group are urged to attend this session.
W E Epley stages his 8th annual Poland China bred sow and spring gilt sale at Smith s sale pavilion Fairbury on Saturday March 1. The offering includes two bred sows fall yearlings and 25 spring gilts all cholera immune and bred to registered sires. Epley touts top red hogs in the state. Send for catalog.
Mrs T F E Bond died last Friday after a stroke at her daughter’s home near Shea. Burial was in Prairie Home cemetery after services at the Holland home conducted by Rev H W Wagner. Relatives from Spokane Washington Chelsea Iowa and Billings Montana attended.
The Red Cross asks for discharge dates promotions service locations and any notable facts to complete Jefferson County war records. Report to Miss Mabel Helvey Fairbury Nebraska 622 Fourth St or call 375. If a service member does not return relatives should send information to avoid omissions.
Harbine residents attend the funeral of Mrs. Martha Sparks in Ellis. Mr and Mrs Henry Weaver and Mrs Harlen Weaver and daughter Rachel present. Navy death notice for Frank Campbell, born 1892 near Harbine, died 1919 in Virginia. Funeral held at Baptist church with interment north of town. Community notes include school attendance awards, a box supper planned for Feb 21, and recent moves of C E Campbell family to Southern Texas.
Miss Lila Jaunita Miller died February 4 1919 aged 16 years 9 months 22 days after appendicitis and bronchial pneumonia. She lived in Diller Hemingford and Steele City Nebraska and Sabetha Kansas. Funeral at M E church Steele City led by Rev Priestly. Burial in Steele City cemetery. Left parents two sisters near Diller and one sister a teacher.
Church notes say services will be held next Sunday despite illness concerns. The February meeting of the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society is postponed due to sickness. The pastor plans to preach in both morning and evening services, hoping for good attendance. The Centenary grows in popularity as a world crisis reconstruction through Christianity.
