Mrs De Filley underwent appendicitis surgery last Thursday Roelf Beckman had a similar operation Friday Clarence Hullman spiked rupture repair on Tuesday Willard Nippert had an appendicitis operation last evening All are reported to be progressing well.
The Woman's Club meeting scheduled for February 17 at Mrs. O. J. Maybern's home is postponed to Tuesday evening February 28 at 8 o'clock. The date change follows a teachers association meeting in Daykin on February 17.
Elm Township will attempt another roundup of coyotes on Sunday afternoon February 21. The entire township will be covered with the hunt managed by Alvin Hitt Frank Grone and Willie Leaper.
At Tuesday evening’s meeting the Board of Education reelected the entire faculty of the Diller public school. Lloyd Sinkey is the superintendent, his second election to that position. An election does not guarantee faculty agreement to continue. School teachers may seek advanced positions if opportunities arise.
A Burlington bridge carpenter gang based in Diller on the rail side tracks spent a week remodeling the company stock yards and performing repair work on the bridge east of town.
The Chick Boyes Players perform a three act comedy titled Love in High Gear next Tuesday night in Diller. New talent will appear with fresh vaudeville acts in the show.

Claude Nider was convicted in Jefferson County Court for robbing soil on his father in law’s farm one mile south of Harbine. The Jefferson County Soil Conservation Association prosecuted. a packed Fairbury courtroom heard the case. Sentencing was suspended and a probationary program ordered to enforce scientific farming methods.
Gloyd H. Zook son of Harry Zook and Miss Virginia Lee Winkle of Barnston married last Thursday February 4 at Beatrice. They left for a short wedding trip. Zook manages Beatrice Power Company's interests in Odell area supervising Barneston Odell Diller Steele City and Lanham.
Mrs. Bessie Sparks of Omaha visits cousins Bert and Bud Bell and Mrs. Orpha Waggoner along with other relatives during her trip.

Mrs. Fred Clark learned of the death of her old friend Mrs. Mary Depue known as Grandma Depue of Diller She lived with her daughter the late Mrs Lula Kerr for years and died at her son Clarence Depue’s home in Lincoln on February 9 at age 91 The funeral was held in Steele City Thursday afternoon Mrs Clark attended the service.
Henry Korff, a Lanham pioneer and longtime grain coal and lumber businessman, died last Saturday. His funeral was held Tuesday. He and his son operated a Hebron Nebraska lumber yard. He had been in poor health due to a tumorous condition of the liver.
Relatives were notified Wednesday of the death of Mrs. Phyllis Patton Williams at her Idaho home on Tuesday night. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Patton of Lincoln and a graduate nurse. Further details are not available at this time.

The Beatrice four story Black Bros flour mill on the Blue River was destroyed by fire last Thursday evening. Night miller Glenn Coleman spotted the blaze after 9 PM in the elevator unit. Fire crews could not stop the fire, but saved nearby elevator cars and a river bridge. Built in 1892, the mill could produce 600 barrels daily, with losses estimated at 150000 dollars. Black Bros also run mills in Wymore and Beatrice, with rebuilding expected.
Mattie Periso administrator of Fred Periso filed a district court suit for 29 759 dollars in district court Monday against Mahlon Woken administrator of Arthur Malchow and truck driver Mr Spencer. Periso left a wife and two daughters.
The obituary for Marshall London contained errors. It notes he graduated in 1895 with F. L. Oliphant as superintendent and that he was in the 10th grade at Diller School, which later became a 12th grade accredited institution. London farmed near Diller for ten years before moving to Springs in 1905, where he resided until his death.
