Mrs Will Bergman and her children from Odell spent a day or two visiting her mother Mrs Thos Copeland this past Sunday.
J. E. Hayworth the night telegraph operator at South Omaha visited with his sister Mrs Otis Babb and family earlier this week. Will Keckley and wife welcomed an 12 lb boy born the 4th at Geneva Nebraska with Dr Jos Bixby attending. J T Briggs moved to Havelock to begin lumber stock invoicing and will relocate his family there once a dwelling is found. Six million people use Cascarets warning ad ends. Wilber Hiatt a Beatrice business college attendee is ill with smallpox at his home three and a half miles northwest of Odell. Chas McCaffrey near Odell is under home quarantine with a confirmed smallpox case. Dr. Pickett quarantined the McCaffrey home and expects to limit the outbreak to this single case. Charlie McCaffrey studied in Beatrice and contracted the disease there.
H R Tincher recommended for Odell postmaster. Livery barn for sale in good location, inquire D R Kelley. Royal Neighbors dine today with Mrs J T Briggs. Mrs Captain Andrews of Steele City, long invalid, died Wednesday and to be buried Sunday.

Merrit McMillen died in the county jail at Fairbury from consumption early Saturday. He had been arrested at Diller for selling liquor and pled guilty. Buried in Fairbury cemetery after short services. He was stepson of James A. Bodell and half brother to Mrs. R. Wright. His mother is buried at Prairie Home Cemetery. He had once belonged to the Baptist church and left a troubled life. He asked his life be a warning to other young men.
