Tickets for the operetta may be purchased at Clark's store. Mrs. C W Hiatt is ill with sinusitis and confined to the house. Dr. Wm Weigle arrived from Lincoln to be with his father. Mrs. Eugene Diller of Fairbury visited her parents this week.
A public notice mentions commercial trucking and a Friday city event. It notes a fireman’s dance at City Hall last Friday with unusually large attendance.

Rev and Mrs R M Harris and son Donald arrived from Omaha where Mrs Harris was operated on at Clarkson hospital. Mr Harris returned home while Mrs Harris and children stayed with Dr Viers family for a longer visit.
Daykin residents voted last week to fund a new school building after a night-school event highlighted the need. Patrons and families turned out to see their children in action and supported the bonds by a substantial majority.
Eugene Weigle an early Nebraska settler and substantial farmer died at Odell hospital after months of poor health. He lived on his homestead south of town since his wife’s death two years ago and will be buried after funeral services Saturday at 2 PM at Earl Weigle’s residence. Roy Roelfs and others taxed with illness are noted. Odell band musicians performed with the Diller band at a Wednesday concert.
Local shop offers leather collars and harnesses with red tag prices. One and three-fourths inch harness listed at 50 dollars. One and one half inch harness priced at 48 dollars. Customer: Gus Dressen.
Mrs Shadock mother of Mrs Schindler underwent a major operation in an Omaha Hospital last Wednesday. Her condition is reported as favorable. She has visited in Diller several times and friends hope for a satisfactory recovery.
Miss Mae Lange daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Lange Endicott and Wayne Henrichs son of Mr and Mrs George Henrichs Diller were married Saturday January 27 1934 at 430 PM. The ceremony was performed by Dr R C Shupe at the Presbyterian Manse in Fairbury with Mr and Mrs Howard Kersting of Fairbury as attendants.
Mrs Ed Henrichs entertained the NCS A club at Mrs Helen Loock's home on Wednesday afternoon January 31. Twelve members attended with Mrs J R Andrews elected president. Roll call noted current events and social plans. A luncheon was served by Mrs Henrichs with help from Miss Lois and Madeline. Next gathering set for February 7 hosted by Mrs Ray Eick.
Frank Dymacek a longtime Diller resident died Tuesday afternoon from a self inflicted gunshot wound. He had returned from General hospital Odell days earlier and reportedly had threats recently. Funeral services were announced for Friday afternoon at the Methodist church.
Dr Diehl states he is stocking drugs to cover emergencies until medications can be secured and to meet prescriptions on file at the drug store. The stock will be moved to his office for public convenience, and the business will operate on a cash and carry basis to avoid financial losses.
The Diller Band directed by M. O. Wood presented a varied program at the opera house on Wednesday evening. The Junior Band of about twenty new players and the Girls Sextette contributed to the success. A second program is announced for February 21 with music and vaudeville acts.
