The plan would let the farmer receive about $1.25 per bushel, pay off the loan, and buy back roughly 80 cents a bushel for feeding. Beatrice Man Attends Diller Funeral and Renewal
J A Cully of Beatrice former Diller resident visited Tuesday for the funeral of R W Green. He also stopped at the Diller Record office to renew his subscription, having read the paper for about 50 years and earning a gold medal in tribute.

Ray Willis Green born June 20 1890 on a Diller farm, died January 31 1943 at 52. He owned the Diller Cafe 18 years and later became manager of the Telephone Company. He married Eva Witty in 1917. daughter Norma Frances died in 1934. He served in the US Army in 1918 with nine overseas months and was active in the Diller band and local boards. Burial at Prairie Home Cemetery beside Norma. services at Congregational church.

OPA Tightens Rules on Filling Stations Cash Basis and Hours
New OPA orders require gasoline stations to operate on a cash basis after February 1 and impose a 72 hour weekly limit on public service hours. Local stations in Fairbury experiment with staggered schedules 7 to 7, 8 to 8, or 9 to 9, with many closed Sundays. Some truck depots may run 24 hours, serving cars 12 and trucks 12.
