Ladimer Lukas a farmer southeast of town was taken to Beatrice hospital Tuesday after a broken arm and other injuries from an incident in the Virginia area while distributing billboards for his father. He attempted to rally cow and nearly collided with a car, which was badly damaged.
A basement gathering despite bad roads drew a fair crowd for an elaborate general supper. Patrons filled the room and the event raised more than $150 for the cause under existing conditions.

Rex Green of Diller was hospitalized in Beatrice on Saturday for appendicitis with complicating blood loss. His wife visited Wednesday afternoon. she returned home yesterday morning to find him slightly improved as son Will Green took over his mail route during the illness.
Miss Clara Steiner a professional nurse widely regarded in the community asks that her copy of the Record be mailed to the Queen's Hospital in Honolulu Hawaii where she plans to stay for an indeterminate period.
Rev. J. R. Gettyn D D superintendent of the Beatrice District M E Conferences will be here Monday evening December 15 for the first quarterly conference of the year. The meeting starts at seven thirty at the church and all are urged to attend with reports ready and complete.
On Wednesday afternoon December 3 a pleasant tea was held at the home of Mrs. Chas. Waggoner. Guests were invited to learn about various kinds of tea and the prize winner was announced. Luncheon was served by Mrs. Shutt and Mrs. Noted American.
The Jolly Neighbors Club met at Mrs Geo Champ's home on Wednesday afternoon December 10 with nine members and one visitor. The group sewed for the hostess. The next meeting is set for four weeks at Mrs Katherine Kruzberg's home.
Dr. C. C. Diehl learned by telephone of the sudden death of his sister Mrs. C. W. Smith wife of a Fairbury business man. She died at 2 45 p m at the family home in Fairbury in her 60th year. Mrs. Smith leaves surviving relatives in Somers Guan ae on and other families.
