Two weeks before Christmas Fritz Lottman underwent an appendicitis operation at Odell hospital Saturday with the procedure performed for medical relief and recovery expected.
Mrs Carrie Wrigley plans a winter stay with daughter Mrs Fred Dale in Wayne. Joist pupils present a Christmas program on Dec 17 at 8 PM led by Miss Lydia E Krebs. Mrs Anna Long recovering from two weeks illness. Attendees at Mrs Pearce funeral include Mrs Hirsch Mrs Torry of Fairbury and out of town relatives Ed Smith Ella Wolters A Cully James Cope Ard Beatrice former Diller residents. Thos PF Price and family from Beatrice visited Diller relatives.
Miss Bertha Wenz, attending Grand Island Business College, came home last Thursday to spend her Christmas vacation with her parents, Mr and Mrs L Wenz.
Lester Strawhacker moves from Clark's store to Lincoln 17th Street Cash Grocery where Wayne Thompson, ex Diller boy, serves as manager. Glenn Long replaces Strawhacker at Clark's store.

Jubilant prohibitionists hail a federal decision validating seizure of furniture and fixtures from raided saloons. The piece notes that owners may need to supply their own fixtures and bottles, with a $1000 value cited as the cost of a drink amid Depression times.
Mr and Mrs Barrett Wright of Wayne and Mrs Mable Pilger of Lincoln traveled Tuesday to attend the funeral of their aunt Mrs Frank T Pearce, according to local notices.
The Congregational church unanimously elected Rev. Helmms to take the charge after preaching as trial minister for two Sundays. He will assume duties once the parsonage is painted and papered.
Mrs Carrie Wrigley visited her son John Wrigley and family then returned to Diller. She reports a fine turkey Thanksgiving dinner with sixteen guests at noon and fifteen at supper at the Wrigley home near Harbine.

Mrs. Charlotte Ann Lamb Pearce born September 3 1859 near Leavenworth Kansas died December 4 1931 at age 72 3 a day at her home in Diller Nebraska after a sudden heart trouble. She was raised by Hannah Freeman after losing both parents and became a public school teacher in Jefferson County. She married Frank T. Pearce March 2 1879 at Fairbury Nebraska and they lived in Kansas and Nebraska including Hanover Endicott and Diller. Survived by husband William Earl Cavett son Grace Isabelle deceased one brother W C Lamb and many relatives. funeral December 8 1984 in Diller with Rev William Welte officiating and interment at Prairie Home Cemetery.
Mrs 1 Rk Andrews and her committee hosted Key stone class and Loyal Women of the Congregational church at her home. The event featured Yuletide decor, carols led by Mrs. Cully, musical numbers, a piano reading, gifts exchanged, and a luncheon for about forty guests. Proceeds of five dollars go to Northern Nebraska outreach.
