Chick Boyes players present The Small Town Gossip at the opera house Tuesday December 8. Four vaudeville acts between the plays plus Evylen the girl who sees tomorrow. Admission 10 and 15 cents with merchant's ticket. regular 35 cents.
A community sale will be held in Diller on Saturday afternoon December 12 starting at 2 o'clock. Residents may register items with any Diller merchant the auctioneer Roy Schultis or the Record office. Merchants will offer new merchandise as in the prior sale.
A wolf thinning effort is planned for next Sunday to reduce the growing pack in the vicinity. The operation will cover seven miles square, focusing on the section north of Shea, with a plot map referenced on another page of this issue.
Mrs Dora Schainost of Gilead Nebraska state chairman of Americanization and the Nebraska Federation of Women’s Clubs was an overnight guest of Mrs Scott Miller. She conducted a class for the group at the Beckman home last evening.
Mr and Mrs Homer Brandt arrived last week Tuesday from Powell Wyoming to spend the Thanksgiving season with home folks. Homer is the son of Mrs Susie Brandt and Mrs Brandt is the daughter of Mr George Fisher. Numerous other relatives reside nearby.

Thomas Rand of Fairbury died recently and his funeral was held from the Christian church last Sunday. Interment followed in Fairbury Cemetery. Rand had lived in Diller for several years and served as janitor at the high school for some time.

Harold Lottman and Chester Sparks killed a coyote near their homes on Saturday forenoon. Local reports say coyotes are plentiful in the area southwest of town.

Mrs Kurtz and her daughter have moved from the Clark residence into Sam Hutchinson's former post office on the east side of Main Street for a temporary stay. Harry Thompson and his family moved from the country into the Clark house, recently purchased by his mother Mrs Christie Seaman.
Mr and Mrs Hubert Filley traveled from Stanford to visit family. Hubert stayed in Diller for Thanksgiving dinner with his parents while his wife joined her parents in Wymore. The couple soon reunited, avoiding a long separation.
Chas Wyatt sold his tin shop in Fairbury along with the building to Herbert Aasendorf who had worked there. Herbert is the son of Henry Aasendorf formerly of Dilier.

The elderly Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Slocumb have closed their home and will live with their daughter’s family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Robinson, near Beatrice.
