Secretary W K Williamsa of the Beatrice based State Savings and Loan Association toured Diller promoting the building and loan system. The firm offers investment and borrowing shares with guaranteed interest, semi annual dividends, and withdrawable funds. Over ten thousand dollars in Diller held stock earns 8 percent while loans back mortgages in a secure vault. Frank T. Pearce, editor of the Record, is the local agent.

On Wednesday evening December 2 1903 at the home of Mr and Mrs C F Seers south of Ellis the marriage of Hugo Grupe and Maude Sears was performed by Rev H P Grupe pastor of the Lutheran church. The couple will reside in Dilber Kansas and the groom is a jeweler.
