E. G. Bixby reports Edward Bixby died Sunday night at his Seattle home after a long illness. Body to arrive in Diller Friday at 1 30 over the Burlington. Service set for Friday at 2 p m at Waggoner Funeral Home. Interment in Diller Cemetery. He is the youngest brother of Dr Jos Bixby of Geneva Mrs Sadie Diller of Torrington Wyoming and Mrs Cavett of Diller. Obituary to follow.

Funeral services for John Henry Steinmetz aged 1 month 17 days at death were held in Traum's chapel with Rev. H. F. Huntington officiating. Burial followed in Fairbury cemetery. Born October 11 1874 on his father’s Endicott homestead he lived in Jefferson County all his life. Survived by four children two sisters two brothers eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. one child Erma died in 1920.

East of town crowds and many from west joined Beatrice yesterd ay parade. Gage county locals arranged floats making event more pleasing than last year. Sylvia Sible won first for rural school float with Sina and His Reindeer. Erma Sible earned honorable mention for Eskimo Land. Ruth Stahl earned honorable mention.

Jefferson County is added to the list of counties eligible to receive corn loans. A small number of farm year excess corn remains, and the loan will help keep it in the county.
